Ikea Fabric Bag

I made a skirt! Ikea fabric

Awhile back, I helped a friend of mine with a home decorating project that involved fabric. We covered some wood panels and I made her a cover for her head board, all from the same material. Knowing she had a lot of surface to cover she bought several rolls of the print. She bought way, way too much as it turned out, so she shared some of the bounty with me. I absolutely love the pattern, and it’s printed on a light canvas – great for many applications.

The design is from the Patrica Collection by Linda Svensson for Ikea and released in 2006. It has a nice dark grey, black and brown base with pops of white, orange and mustard.
The fabric holds up REALLY well to daily wear. The image above is the purse with the original, unused fabric. I used the purse pattern in the Burda Style Sewing Handbook and it was simple to make. That purse lasted me for a couple of years. With a wash and a new strap, I might be able to use it again.

Now, the fabric is a new skirt. I used the same pattern I had for the Niporri skeleton version with a couple of tweaks.
