Haropla: Momo Haro Clear Pink

Blue Fin, a model distribution company and an American division of Bandai, was at Anime Expo with exclusive models. Much to my happy surprise, one of them was a clear version of Momo Haro!! I didn’t know this until doing a little research but Momo Haro is from Build Divers. I’ve never seen the show but I LOVE this model! Here is the box:

These are a quick build and so much fun to see all finished. I like the clear plastic to see the interior details. It’s also pink and as a weirdly girlie nerd girl, I totally dig it. I sort of became obsessed with clear plastic tech objects back in the iMac days. I even had a clear Gameboy to play Pokemon on!!

Ok – On to the model….

The Momo Haro Instructions

As usual, they are really simple directions. You do not need to read Japanese to understand the instructions since they are fully illustrated. They cover both sides of one piece of paper in full color.

The Model

Since the model is clear, it didn’t require any painting and took me about 30 minutes or so to put together. The clear styrene is a little brittle so some care was needed to nip out the parts without getting white scarring at the injection points. The model is molded in multicolored plastic, a really neat technique that Bandai has perfected.

The small parts are neatly fit and Bandai does a great job of matching the bits together well. The clear pink fits and makes sense with the pink parts

The Hardest Part of the Model

The hardest part of the model was the ears!! No joke! You could see how the pieces were supposed to go together and the instructions were well illustrated but it took a little more strength and skill than I have to get them snapped together correctly. Luckily, Husband was also modeling with me and was able to snap it together without breaking the ears.

I do wish the model had a more detailed back. As you will see in the pictures below, there is internal skeleton detail in the front but not on the back. Seems like a slight miss on Bandai’s part for a clear model but it is a minor detail most wont notice.

The Finished Model

The finished piece is really cute. Here it is open and closed.

Do you love Haro too? Which one is your favorite?
